Terms of use
Effective date: October 23, 2026.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, using the Proxy Mailbox website or app, or receiving mail at an address we assign, you agree to these Terms of Use, the Services Agreement, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Cancellation Policy, the Mail & Package Retention Policy, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Proxy Mailbox is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) service. We receive, log, scan, forward, hold, shred, and recycle mail and packages you authorize us to handle at the address we assign. Service features and limits are defined by your selected plan and the current Fee Schedule.
3. Eligibility and required authorization
You must be at least 18 years old. Federal law requires a completed, notarized USPS Form 1583 and two valid forms of identification (one with a photo) before we may receive mail on your behalf. Each additional recipient name on the account requires its own Form 1583. You authorize us to act as your agent for receiving mail and packages.
4. Accounts and payment
Membership requires a payment method on file and automatic payment. Monthly plans are charged at signup and renew every month on your signup date. Annual plans are charged in full at signup. Monthly plans have a 3-month minimum. A one-time $25 setup fee applies to monthly plans. There is no setup fee on annual plans. Usage charges (forwarding, shipping, storage, shredding, additional recipients, overages, and the $35 Form 1583 notarization) apply per the current Fee Schedule. Charges appear on your statement as PROXY MAILBOX.
SMS Terms
Program name: Proxy Mailbox Customer Care. We send mail and package arrival notices, signup and USPS Form 1583 steps, billing reminders, and customer service replies. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help, or email [email protected]. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You must be at least 18 years old to open a mailbox and to opt in to text messages.
5. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, for lawful use of the address, for keeping your Form 1583 current, and for timely requests to forward, pick up, or dispose of your mail. You may not use the address for any unlawful purpose (see the Acceptable Use Policy).
6. Prohibited use
Use of the service is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, incorporated by reference. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates it or applicable law.
7. Fees and changes
Prices and fees are set in the current Fee Schedule and may change on prospective notice. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of the change.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for mail lost, delayed, or damaged in the postal or carrier network, for the contents of your mail, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim.
9. Termination
Either party may end the service per the Cancellation Policy. Sections that by their nature survive (payment owed, disclaimers, limitation of liability) survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
